Fixing the Go Language Bundle for Visual Studio 2015 Update 1

Brian Chavez caught what looks like a bug in our TextMate parser that is preventing the Go language bundle from working in Visual Studio 2015 Update 1. The symptom is that you load a Go file and syntax colorization isn't enabled:

Fortunately, there's an easy workaround:

  • Search for and open the Go.tmLanguage file (it's in a location like the following):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions\zqafqkyd.2e3\Starterkit\Extensions\go\Syntaxes
  • Insert a carriage return after the > entity on line 8, as follows: Go Language TextMate bundle in Visual Studio

  • Save and reopen Visual Studio.

Go syntax coloring should now start working.

Apologies - we'll fix the bug in a future release.
